Kids room decors

I just love to decorate my home. But dont think i am a neatness freak or anything. Same like everyone i too feel lazy some days. On those days i spent hours infront of the laptop and by the end of the day i will be in a depressed state. Feel so low about myself for spoiling  one whole day without doing anything. The next morning will begin with a pledge"today i am not gonna spent more than one hr for browsing..."
Today i decided to focus on my kids room.

This is the entry door of the kids room. Took the print out of"You are entering the playzone" in  colored A4 sheets ,each word in a sheet so that u get bigger size , shaped it using a zig zag scissor, arranged it in the pattern below. The bunny's face was the left over part of some broken toy. Hot glued it on to the door. Thus made a bright entrance to the room...

A closer view...

My elder brat is so fond of coloring. I have read somewhere that displaying their art works gives them motivation to  draw more. Also it boosts their self confidence. I bought a foam board of a vibrant red color. Using  double sided tape fixed some paper clips on to the board. Then clipped the best drawings of my kid on to the board. The advantage these clips are we can change the pictures whenever we want. And this was the result!!!

Dont forget to put dates on the pictures so that you can trace their improvement...

Here comes a longer view...

Putting  alphabet mat on the floor is the easiest way to brighten the kids room.
A papercraft garland adorns the other wall of the room.

A closer view will give you an idea of how easily it can be made.

This is the picture from which i got this idea.(source:internet).
Try to choose vibrant colors  to make the loops so that it can be more attractive.

So thats all for the day!!! Today is a happy day... Have done something fruitful!!

Papercraft Family Tree

I love to display the photos of my kids in my house. I always make sure there is a photo wall in my home. At first i had one like this in my corridor.

This was big enough for the corridor. But now we have shifted to a new house which is too big compared to the former one, with lots of empty walls. So i felt the photo frame cluttering wont work for these big walls. Started looking for a different plan. After so much of googling one idea struck my eyes.

Its cost was 100 dollars.Since it was too much expensive for me to buy i decided to make one by myself. Bought black chart paper from Borders. Cut out the templates of leaves, branches and birds on that.My artist husband helped me out in it. Then cut it using a cutter, hot glued on the wall. Finally the ikea photo frames took their positions with the help of a double sided tape. This was the result.

    A long view.

A close up view

I know its not at all perfect compared to the original one. Its cissy's minature version :) But still i love it and it makes our dining room  wall lively.

My little space....

As i have mentioned in the introduction i have two crazy kids at home .They makes my life always busy. A big problem faced by every mom like me is how to store the kids toys. So sharing the photos of  2 storage boxes made by me for their toys. They looks really cute and also its very useful. You can dump a lot of toys in it.

This is made of an lcd tv's empty carton.
This was useful at the beginning when the number of toys were less. but when one more kid arrived the toys started overflowing and  was forced to make another  one with more space. This is made out of a fridge's carton.
First i cut it into the desired size and sealed all sides using masking tape. Then opened one side in the shape of a door. Finally covered with the kids book wrapping paper(available in  stationary stores in different colors)
