Crocheted Holy table runner !!

This was my 2012 xmas's project!! Usually i starts many projects together and never finishes any of them on time. But this time i took it as a challenge and finished this within a week.
It looks better at night. so tried to create a night mood by switching off the lights and keeping the curtains closed. :)

This was found from red heart patterns. The link goes here. Hope it will be an encouragement to all lazy crochet lovers like me to start a big project. If i could accomplish it anyone else can do it.

Forget me not doily

Last week was a quiet blogging week for me. Trying to build up a new habit. I have started reading one book "Steve Jobs". Its a huge book. Donno when i will be able to finish it. Nowadays i am spending all my free time upon the book. I have reached only 250 pages.Still  250 more pages to go. So couldnt stitch anything last week. But dint wanna keep my blog inactive. So posting an old project.

Its a "forget me not doily". I donno why this doily is baptised in that name.In the original project there was some flowers (which resembles forgetmenot flowers)attached to the doily. That might be the reason behind this name.
Coming to the project its a super easy project. anyone can try it out.Use cotton thread no:10 to get the same gauge measurement.I think this doily looks best with thin thread. Here goes the link for this pattern. I have made my own modifications. Also i cut short the no: of rows when i got bored :) Enjoy!!

Kids room decors

I just love to decorate my home. But dont think i am a neatness freak or anything. Same like everyone i too feel lazy some days. On those days i spent hours infront of the laptop and by the end of the day i will be in a depressed state. Feel so low about myself for spoiling  one whole day without doing anything. The next morning will begin with a pledge"today i am not gonna spent more than one hr for browsing..."
Today i decided to focus on my kids room.

This is the entry door of the kids room. Took the print out of"You are entering the playzone" in  colored A4 sheets ,each word in a sheet so that u get bigger size , shaped it using a zig zag scissor, arranged it in the pattern below. The bunny's face was the left over part of some broken toy. Hot glued it on to the door. Thus made a bright entrance to the room...

A closer view...

My elder brat is so fond of coloring. I have read somewhere that displaying their art works gives them motivation to  draw more. Also it boosts their self confidence. I bought a foam board of a vibrant red color. Using  double sided tape fixed some paper clips on to the board. Then clipped the best drawings of my kid on to the board. The advantage these clips are we can change the pictures whenever we want. And this was the result!!!

Dont forget to put dates on the pictures so that you can trace their improvement...

Here comes a longer view...

Putting  alphabet mat on the floor is the easiest way to brighten the kids room.
A papercraft garland adorns the other wall of the room.

A closer view will give you an idea of how easily it can be made.

This is the picture from which i got this idea.(source:internet).
Try to choose vibrant colors  to make the loops so that it can be more attractive.

So thats all for the day!!! Today is a happy day... Have done something fruitful!!
